Feeling the Love?
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, shops are in full force with red roses, chocolates and teddy bears.
Whether you celebrate Valentine’s day or not, as a business owner, I find it helpful to use this time of year to reflect on what I’m doing and work out if I’m still loving my business as much as I did when I set it up.
As an employee or an employer, it’s natural to fall out of love with your job from time to time.
And it matters!
Most of us spend more hours per week at work than we do with our family and friends. In work, as in life, it’s good to recognise where things are falling short and to focus our energy on what we appreciate and want more of.
Answer my questions below to see if you’re still in love with what you do and, if not, what changes you can make to get that feeling back.
What first attracted and excited you about your work?
Is your best work behind you? What’s gone stale and why?
If your financial situation changed and you didn’t need to work as you do now, what would you keep and what would you drop?
How can you take stock and find ways to rediscover the passion?
